Onboarding is your very first contact with Skillwaker. In under 2 minutes, you forge your fighter identity, choose your learning disciplines, and trigger the initialization sequence — the starting point of your adventure.

Overview

Your first day in the Awakening

First Steps (Onboarding) is the welcome sequence that triggers right after you register on Skillwaker. In 3 quick steps, you create your fighter identity, select your areas of interest, and launch the initialization cinematic sequence.

In technical terms: First Steps corresponds to the Onboarding user flow. It is the initialization wizard for your profile: pseudonym, avatar, and content preferences.

This step is mandatory and only happens once. Once finished, you are redirected to the subscription choice and then to the Sanctuary (Dashboard) — your headquarters.

How to access

Onboarding launches automatically

Onboarding triggers automatically upon your first login. You don't have to look for it: it appears as soon as your account is created and verified.

Register on Skillwaker

Go to the app and create an account with your email address.

Confirm your email

Click the verification link sent to your inbox.

The "Forge your identity" onboarding screen appears automatically.

Tip: If you don't have an account, the app will automatically redirect you to the registration page. No chance of missing the onboarding.

Step 1: Forge your Identity

Code Name & Avatar

The first step of onboarding asks you to create your fighter identity. You choose a unique pseudonym and an avatar that will represent you throughout the Skillwaker universe.

The Code Name

✏️ Unique pseudonym

Between 1 and 20 characters. This is the name displayed under your avatar in the Sanctuary and Leaderboard.

🔄 Modifiable at any time

You can change it later from your Profile page. No pressure!

The Avatar

The avatar editor offers several options to customize your visual representation:

A gallery of ready-to-use, RPG-themed avatars. Click to select.

📷 Custom photo

Upload your own image from your device. It will be cropped automatically.

Validate the step

Once your Code Name is entered and your avatar selected, the "ACTIVATE MY DESTINY" button turns on. Click it to validate and proceed to the next step.

⚠️
Warning: The button remains disabled as long as both fields are not filled (code name + avatar). This is normal — fill out both to continue.

Step 2: Choose your Disciplines

Your areas of learning

The "Choose your path" screen presents the disciplines (knowledge domains) available on Skillwaker. Select those that align with your professional goals to customize your learning feed.

Browse disciplines

Domains are displayed as clickable chips: IT, Marketing, Management, HR, Cybersecurity, Data, etc.

Select your favorites

Tap the disciplines you are interested in. They will light up to confirm your selection.

Confirm or skip

Click "CONFIRM MY PATHS" to save your choices, or "Skip" to view everything.

Tip: Don't worry if you're unsure! Your discipline preferences are modifiable at any time from the app's Settings. You can also skip and refine later.

Strategic Advice: Choosing your disciplines right away allows Skillwaker to recommend targeted quizzes and courses. Your Sanctuary and Raid Portals will adapt to your choices.

Step 3: Initialization Sequence

The cinematic launch

The Initialization Sequence (Boot Sequence) is the cinematic animation marking the end of your onboarding. It simulates the loading of your fighter profile with an immersive "hacking terminal" effect.

What happens

An animated gauge gradually fills from 0% to 100%, accompanied by console messages.

🚀 Auto Redirection

At 100%, you are automatically sent to the subscription choice page.

In technical terms: The initialization sequence is a cosmetic animation (no real data is loaded). It lasts about 1.5 seconds and serves to create a memorable moment — your official "awakening".

Your first actions

Once onboarding is complete, you arrive at the subscription choice page, then the Sanctuary (Dashboard). Here are the 4 reflexes to adopt right away:

Familiarize yourself with your HQ: resource HUD, avatar, daily quest, and stats.

Your first quest is the easiest. Finish it to earn your first XP and Gold rewards.

Access to all quizzes and courses. Mana (energy) regenerates at 10 pts/hour — enough for 1 to 2 daily sessions.

Unlimited Mana, priority access to new content, and profile visible to partner recruiters via Open to Work.
